UP Health System -- Marquette and the Brain and Spine Center are now accepting qualified Neurologist candidates to join their strong, cohesive practice. Candidates may include MD or DO practicing physicians, recent graduates and near future graduates.

Opportunity Requirements:

  • Board Certified in Neurology or Board Eligible within five years of residency
  • EEG and/or EMG-Nerve Conduction testing experience is preferred, but not required

  • Physician Group Employed Position
  • Expectations: Clinic based practice averaging 14 patients per day. Inpatient rounding when on call averaging 8 patients per day.  Ability to work with 3rd year Medical Students and Family Medicine Residents
  • Current Practice Structure: Multi-disciplinary Neuroscience Center consisting of Neurologists (adult and pediatric), Neurohospitalist, Neurosurgeons and NeuroPsychology/Health Psychology. Private Practice PM&R embedded in the practice. Neurophysiology services are provided through the hospital. There is a Stroke Coordinator and Medical Director, PA, full nursing staff, Neurophysiology technicians, Neuro Radiology, Interventional Radiology, PT, OT, ST and collaboration with other specialties throughout the hospital system
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday clinic hours 8-5, blocked admin time, call of 1:4, off-site beeper/cell coverage in the evenings and weekends with rounding
  • Location: Clinic is located within new Medical Office Building attached to the new  2019 Hospital Main Campus. Physicians are required to hold clinics within the UPHS remote clinics located throughout Michigan's Upper Peninsula
  • Equipment and Services: 3 new 2018 Natus EMG machines within practice, multiple new Neurophysiology machines to come with new facility. Current EMR is Practice Partner and in hospital is McKesson Paragon
  • Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center is a collaboration between Northern Michigan University and UPHS -- Marquette, which is conducting primary research on the formation of brain tumors
